The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Thursday, June 5 Austin Samuel Guedry, 29, 100 block of Nelson G Lane, Port Barre.

Joseph Dwight Manuel

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Dwight Manuel, who departed this life suddenly at his residence on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the age of 75. A visitation to honor Dwight will take place at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Wednesday, June 11, starting at 8 a.m.

Betty Jean Marcantel

Betty Jean Marcantel, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2025, in Basile, Louisiana at the age of 81.
