Basketball team recognized

Eunice Mayor Scott Fontenot presented certificates to the coaches of the Tri-Parish Elite AAU basketball team that won awards in Florida. Coaches are Paul Hebert, accepting a certificate, and Vondray Vallare. The presentation was made a the Sept. 12 meeting of the Board of Aldermen and mayor.

DOTD chief says project backlog is $13.4B

Transportation and Development Secretary Shawn Wilson said the construction backlog for the state now stands at $13.4 billion, which is an increase from where it stood when he was first took over the department in January 2016.
