Dennis Gean Courville passed away on Thursday, August 31 2017, at the age of 72. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 4, 2017, at 1:00 PM at Quirk and Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Courville Cemetery in Eunice. Deacon Chuck Ortego will officiate.

Former Basile officer arraigned; charges include assault in May

Former Basile Police 0fficer and part-time Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Deputy Nicholas Richardson appeared before Judge Chuck West on Aug. 24 for his arraignment after being arrested in May for felony aggravated assault with a firearm, simple battery, and malfeasance in office.
