BELLEVUE – St. Edmund had a strong showing at the District 6-1A meet with 23 athletes qualified to participate in Thursday’s regional meet held at New Iberia Senior High.
The Louisiana Wildlife Federation (LWF) is calling upon residents and businesses throughout the state to join others in turning off bright or excess lighting from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.

It was a strong showing for several local teams to begin the LHSAA softball playoffs.
The state tournament will be held April 26-27 at Frasch Park in Sulphur.
Kasey Marcantel’s biology students at St. Edmund High are studying different body systems and organs of the frog, through the dissection of a bullfrog.
Walking a dog on a leash is required by law in many towns and cities. Leashing a dog prevents the animal from trespassing on neighbor’s property and keeps it from jumping on people or other animals.
Graduation will be approaching soon and much is needed ahead of time for the newspaper’s special graduation edition.
