It is with great sadness that the family of August “Jackie” Hardy announces his passing on Monday, Oct. 1, 2018, at 11:33 a.m. in Lafayette. He was 55.
A celebration of life will be celebrated on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018 at 10 a.m. at New Zion Baptist Church in Eunice. The Reverend Allen W. Ben will officiate. Visitation will be from 7:30 a.m. until time of service at the New Zion Baptist Church in Eunice.
August was known for his cooking, hunting, watching sports and spending time with his family and friends.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, especially his wife Julia Hardy of Eunice, his parents David and Lillie Hardy of Eunice; his son Keenan Skinner Sr. of Eunice; a daughter Ylonda Skinner of Eunice; two brothers David Hardy III of Crowley and Brian K. Hardy of Eunice, two sisters Audrey Hardy and Linda Hardy Freeman, both of Eunice, 10 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by a brother Corey Hardy, a sister Genie Hardy, and a step-son Leon Skinner Jr.
Pall bearers will be Kevin Johnwell Sr., Paul Williams, Christopher Duroseau, David Hardy III, Melvin Guillory and James Johnwell Jr.
Frank Brothers Funeral Home in Eunice is in charge of all arrangements.
