It is with the heaviest hearts and great sadness that the family of Franklin “Boo-Key” McCauley announces his passing on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at The Carpenter House in Lafayette with his loving family by his side. He was 87. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery with Pastor Chris Frye officiating.
Franklin, better known as “Boo-Key”, served his country proudly in the United States Army during World War II. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed by everyone he knew and loved. Franklin is survived by his three sons, Sandy McCauley of Mamou, Billy McCauley and wife, Susan of Eunice, and Neil McCauley of Mamou; ten step-children; brother, Lionel “Mac” McCauley and wife, Winnie of Baton Rouge; eighteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Velma Cortina McCauley; parents, Navy and Agnes Bell McCauley; daughters, Diana Lynn and Judy Key McCauley; brothers, Vincent and Donald “Tee” McCauley; sister, Bertha LeDoux; grandson, James Walters; and granddaughter, Meeka McDaniel.
At the request of the family, visitation was held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Saturday December 15th from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again on Sunday, December 16th from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
