Memorial services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home for Susan Welch “Sue” Schexnayder, 67, who died Monday, Oct. 14, 2019, at 11:45 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Mrs. “Sue” was a teacher with the Acadia Parish School System for over 30 years, having retired in May of 2019 from Ross Elementary. She loved her “KIDS” at school, antiques, flea markets, and shopping.
She graduated from ULL with a Master’s Degree in Education. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be missed by all.
Rev. Jimmy Broussard will officiate for the services. The family has requested visiting hours Wednesday from 2 p.m. to service time.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, John O. Schexnayder Jr. of Crowley; two sons, Brannon Schexnayder and wife Lesley of Kaplan, and Seth Schexnayder and wife Ashley of Crowley; four grandchildren, Hailey, Leighla, Mylee and Zeke Schexnayder; two sisters, Shawne Latiolais of Lawtell and Sandy Picard of Lafayette; and one brother, Michael Welch of Campti.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Louetta Stewart Welch.
