St. Landry Crime Stoppers is asking the public’s help to locate Mckenzie Jermone Simmons, 24, of Eunice in connection with the Oct. 26 shooting at the Shell station on U.S. 190.
Simmons’ last last known address of 24130 Pitre Road in Eunice, according to a news release from Crime Stoppers.
Simmons wanted on a warrant for attempted first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The news release stated Jamarr L. Ross, 24 of Eunice, was arrested after tips submitted to Crime Stoppers.
A man who was wounded in the shooting, De’Vidre Domal Doyle, 19, of the 500 block of Fred Street, was arrested Nov. 8. Doyle has charged with attempted first-degree murder.
Police stated the shooting unfolded as a small white vehicle with three persons inside drove up to front (south side) of the building and parked. The trio went inside the station.
About two to three minutes later a white, four-door Ford Crown Victoria or Mercury Marquis arrived and the north side of the station.
Two individuals exited the Shell station and approved the second white vehicle and it appeared from a surveillance video that a conversation started.
But a back door of the car opened a gunfire started.
One of the subjects outside the car went back into the Shell station and could be seen on video with a weapon.
The other person walked around the front of car and fell down then got into the backseat of the car and it drove away.
Three subjects walked to the smaller car and left, eventually turning on U.S. 190.
