Sunday shooting victim ID’d

Police have officially released the name of the man killed in a shooting here Sunday afternoon.
According to Police Chief Jimmy Broussard, Brydon “B.K.” Gray, 26, died after being shot multiple times outside a residence in the 700 block of Leslie Amos Street around 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Police have not named a suspect in the shooting, however, Broussard said investigators “are following several leads in reference to identifying a person of interest.”
According to police reports, Gray and another individual had been standing outside a residence talking when a shooter approached from the rear of the home and opened fire, striking Gray numerous times.
Gray was transported to Acadia General Hospital where he was pronounced dead by the Acadia Parish Coroner’s Office.
The other man was not injured, according to Broussard.
Gray’s body has been sent to the Calcasieu Forensics Laboratory in Lake Charles for an autopsy.
Broussard is asking anyone with any information concerning the shooting to contact either the Crowley Police Investigations Division at 788-4114 or Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish at 789-TIPS (789-8477).
“We need our community’s help to bring this person to justice and to bring closure to the family,” the chief said.
