EHS’ Poullard grabs third at state meet

BATON ROUGE – Eunice High’s Malik Poullard earned a medal at the LHSAA CLass 3-A track meet Saturday with a 44-8.25 leap in the triple jump.
Bobcat Javondre Edwards finished fourth in the hurdles with time of 15.47.
Avery Lee was sixth in the javelin with a throw of 154-03.
The Lady Bobcats finished fourth in the 4x100 meter relay as Jyhreh Johnson, Kiara Whitem Shanyia Toussaint and A;Mya Johnwell combined for a time of 1:47.48.
Johnwell finished seventh in the 100 meters with a time of 13.13.
Iota’s Chole Smith captured second place in the girls 800 meters with a time of 2:20.09.
Smith finished seventh in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 51.98.
Rose Regan finished seventh in 1,600-meter run with a time of 5:47.80.
Abigail Fontenot finished seventh in the 100- meter hurdles with time of 16.45.
Church Point’s Hannah Richard finished second in the girls javelin with a toss of 40-02.
Madison Guillory finished fourth in the girls discus with a throw of 102-07.
Church Point’s Breelyn Jones finished fourth in the boys’ 100 meters with a time of 10.68.
West Feliciana won the boys Class 3-A title with 80 points, while Brusly scored 60 points to captured the girls championship just ahead of West Feliciana’s 56 points.
In Class 1-A, Basile’s Travis Mondares captured third place in the high jump with a leap of 6-0.
Basile’s Rashawn Murphy, Rashad Murphy, Jerome Thomas and Jaylon Thomas finished eighth in the 4x200 relay with a time of 1:34.60.
Ascension Catholic won the girls 1-A title with 63 points, while Haynesville captured the 1-A boys championship with 96 points.
In Class 2-A, Mamou’s Tavia Gallow finished eighth in the girls triple jump with a leap of 32-04.75.
Episcopal of Baton Rouge swept Class 2-A as the Kinghts exploded for 116 points and the girls rolled with 80 points.
