Etouffée cookoff set in March

The Eunice Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the City of Eunice will present the 34th Annual World Championship Crawfish Etouffee Cook-off on March 31.
The festivities begin on March 30 from 8 p.m. to midnight with a Pre-Cook-off Kick-off Dance at the Barn at Lake View Park & Beach 1717 Veterans Memorial Hwy. Eunice, featuring. Geno Delofasse and French Rocking Boogie.
The weekend continues with the cook-off from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m March 31 at the Pavilion at 651 Samuel Drive in Eunice.
The event will include etouffée, arts and crafts and musics.
Scheduled bands are:
Jamie Bergeron and Kickin Cajuns;
Troy Lejeune & Cajun Revue; and
Jason Frey & Lagniappe.
Admission and parking are free.
Each year cook-off contestants vie to win the title as World Champion Crawfish Etouffée (smothered crawfish) chefs. Celebrity and professional judges will proclaim winners in three different categories: Amateur, Professional, and Club/Organizations. Teams also vie for the best decorated booth and the people can proclaim their favorite winner too! All winners will be announced from the music stage at about 3:30 p.m.
