World Championship Crawfish Etouffeé Cook-off is today

The steaming hot crawfish étouffeé is likely to taste extremely good on Sunday as the weather forecast calls for a high in the mid-50s and cloudy.
The 34th annual World Championship Crawfish Etouffeé Cook-off is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at the Northwest Pavilion on Samuel Drive.
The family-oriented event offers étouffeé from a variety of chefs with crews serving from decorative booths.
Admission, parking and live music is free.
Vendors are also present.
The bands begin performing at 10 a.m. and the winners are announced at about 3:30 p.m.
Teams compete in three categories: Amateur, Professional and Club/Organization. Teams also vie for People’s Choice and the Best Decorated Booth.
The Eunice Chamber of Commerce sponsors the Cook-off.
The band lineup is Jamie Bergeron and Kickin Cajuns; Troy LeJeune & Cajun Revue; and ​Jason Frey & Lagniappe.
