Four-wheelers, side-by-sides and certain types of trucks have been targeted for theft in various areas of Acadia Parish and surrounding parishes, according to Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson in a Crime Stoppers news release.
In lieu of the state not qualifying to receive FEMA assistance, Gov. Jeff Landry is helping parishes that were hardest hit by the storm on April 10.
The House of Representatives advanced House Bill 1 (HB1) by a unanimous vote of the members present (104-0) sending it to the Senate for further consideration.

BELLEVUE – St. Edmund had a strong showing at the District 6-1A meet with 23 athletes qualified to participate in Thursday’s regional meet held at New Iberia Senior High.

Walking a dog on a leash is required by law in many towns and cities. Leashing a dog prevents the animal from trespassing on neighbor’s property and keeps it from jumping on people or other animals.
