Black team captures LSUE Fall Series

It was Koi Westbrook's treat that provided the trick for the Black Magic with a 9-6 Halloween clincher to win Game 5 and the LSU Eunice Fall World Series.
The Carencro native blasted a 3-run home run to push the Black comfortably in front of the Golden Goats.
One night removed from a 16 run outburst, the Black Magic continued its offensive onslaught.
The squad pounded 13 hits and enjoyed a five run 6th inning. Brian Fairbanks picked up the win for the Black Magic.
The right-hander tossed five full innings, scattered two runs on seven hits, striking out three and walking a pair.
Westbrook ended the night going 2-for-5 with 4 RBIs and a run scored. Bren Faulk (2 RBI) and Cameron Horton (2 RBI) also provided an offensive spark for the Black Magic.
Chance Clark paced the Golden Goats offensively with a 2-for-5 evening including a pair of RBIs and runs scored.
The freshman led all hitters during the Fall World Series going 6-for-17 (.353 batting average), 3 RBIs and four runs scored.
The power hitting trio of Cameron Horton (7), Koi Westbrook (6) and Austin Kirkpatrick (5) were responsible for driving in 18 of the Black Magic's 42 runs. Freshman Slate Fuller's five RBI paced the Golden Goats.
Justin Barton led the Black Magic on the hill.
The redshirt sophomore started two games, throwing nine full innings, yielding five runs on six hits and striking out nine batters. Barton had an earned run average of 3.00.
The Black team claimed 7-3 win the opener and then outslugged the Golden Goats in a 7-6 thriller to take a 2-0 series advantage.
The Golden Goats picked up a 6-3 win, but the Black Magic then mashed 16 runs on 12 hits in a 16-2 7 inning run rule runaway win to take a 3-1 series lead.
