DeRouen, Hernandez exchange wedding vows

Emily Camille DeRouen and Juan Pablo Hernandez exchanged wedding vows during a civil ceremony at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 6, at the courthouse in Houston, Texas.
The bride is the daughter of Jacques DeRouen of Houston and Elda Cortina of Houston.
The groom is the son of Miguel Hernandez and Anny Hernandez of Tampico, Mexico.
Paternal grandparents of the bride are Diane DeRouen of Eunice and the late Rodney DeRouen.

June is National Pollinator Month

June 22 through 28 is National Pollinator Week, and the focus is “Pollinators, Plants, People, Planet,” according to www.pollinator.org.
This not-so-well-known celebration was declared 13 years ago when the U.S. Senate designated the third week in June as “National Pollinator Week.” This helped make pollinators a central focus in an effort to tackle the urgent issue of declining pollinator populations.

Mr. and Mrs. Kalib McGee

Local couple exchange vows in mountains of Colorado

Constance Fontenot and Kalib McGee were wed on June 1 at a special destination in Artist Point on Flagstaff Mountain in Boulder, Colorado.
The private ceremony on the mountain top was attended by friends and family members. Those friends, helping to celebrate the couple, included Lyndsey Ardoin, Margaret Vidrine, Mollie Heinen, Gabrielle Joyce, Mason Deshotel, Peyton Smith, and Josh Bertrand. Waiting back in Louisiana was a son Samuel Vidrine.

Fruge, Vidrine wed during evening Nuptial Mass ceremony

St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Richard was the setting for the evening ceremony uniting Kimberlyn Brooke Fruge and John Paul Vidrine in Holy Matrimony.
The Nuptial Mass ceremony was held on Saturday, July 6 at 7:30 p.m. with the Reverend Wayne Duet officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Dayna Bundick Fruge and Joseph Glenn Fruge Jr. of Eunice, and the groom is the son of Denee’ Angelique Ardoin and Rickey Paul Vidrine, both of Pine Prairie.
Vocalist for the ceremony was Naomi Broussard and church lectors were Julia and Kaleb Ardoin.

Mrs. Edward Vidrine III

Melder, Vidrine exchange vows during evening ceremony

St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice was the setting for the evening double ring ceremony uniting Heather Jade Melder and Edward Vidrine III in Holy Matrimony.
The evening ceremony was held on Saturday, April 6 at 6 p.m. with Rev. Clinton Sensat, and Deacon Timothy Marcantel officiating. Deacon Marcantel of Erath is an uncle of the bride.
The bride is the daughter of Richard and Rene Melder of Eunice, and the groom is the son of Edward Vidrine Jr. and Theresa Vidrine of Mamou.
