Phillips, Lachney wed during Nuptial Mass ceremony

St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Eunice was the setting for the evening ceremony uniting Courtney Blaire Phillips and Joseph Kyle Lachney in Holy Matrimony.
The double ring Nuptial Mass ceremony was held on Friday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. with the Reverend Garrett McIntyre and Reverend Matthew Hebert officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mike Genin’ Dupre of Eunice and Cecil Phillips of Alexandria, and the groom is the son of Larry and Sherron Lachney of Ville Platte.
Providing music for the ceremony were Soprano Sarah M. Pulling accompanied by Jan S. Pullin, both of Eunice. Lectors were Aimee Soileau and Quinten Swann, both friends of the couple.
Gift bearers were Liz Francois, godmother of the bride; and Debbie Guillory, aunt of the groom.
The bride, given away by her father Cecil Phillips and maternal grandfather Henry M. Dupre, was radiant in a beaded illusion V-neck wedding gown framed with cap sleeve insets in a sweetheart bodice. Custom cords of crystal and pearl beads dangled down the V-back.
The gown was styled in English net and embellished with lace appliques over a charmeuse underlay and featured a scalloped lace hemline.
Covered buttons accented the back to the tip of the chapel train. Accenting her look she wore a lace edged cathedral veil beaded with rhinestones and sequins. The veil was adorned with a floral crystal headpiece.
Finishing off, the bride chose shimmer satin ivory heels beautifully accented with an adjustable crystal ankle bracelet and satin bow.
She carried a hand-tied fresh bouquet with a lovely selection of florals finished with ivory silk ribbon. The bouquet included blush O’Hara garden roses, champagne Quicksand, and ivory Majolica roses along with navy privet berries, antique dusty blue hydrangea and a selection of eucalyptus foliage and Dusty Miller greenery. Entwined into the bouquet were the bride’s personal rosary and a great grandmother’s broach.
Serving as maid of honor was Jada Fontenot of Eunice, friend of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Darrelyn Lachney of Ville Platte, sister of the groom; Mayson Begnaud, Margaret Rose Vidrine, Claire Quirk, all of Eunice; Macey Comeaux of Youngsville, Sami Seiden of Marietta, Georgia and Morgan Gresell of Mandeville, all freinds of the bride.
Junior bridesmaids were Gabriella Grace and Sophi Catherine Dupre of Eunice, nieces of the bride.
The attendants wore floor length slate colored chiffon dresses. The sweetheart criss-cross pleated bodice of the dresses were topped with an illusion neckline, sheer over the decollete, sheer sleeves and enhanced by feathery embroidery along the shoulders.
The empire waistline was brought to a basque in the front with gathering spilling down. The back of the dresses were half sheer, dipping in a V-shape.
Junior bridesmaids wore floor length slate colored high neckline dresses. The dresses featured a flattering blouson silhouette in a premium chiffon. A self-tying sash topped the lightly gathered skirts which flowed to a gracefully flared hem.
The bridesmaids and junior bridesmaids carried a hand-tied nosegay that included floral selections from the bride’s bouquet accented with anemones and finished with silk dusty blue ribbons.
Serving as flower girls were Riley Fontenot, daughter of Jacob and Jade Fontenot of Eunice, and Lola Guillory, daughter of Savannah Guillory.
Ring bearer was Greyson Dupre, son of Rhett and Miley Dupre of Eunice, godchild of the bride.
Serving as best man was Matthew Manuel of Ville Platte, friend of the groom.
Groomsmen were Daniel Enicke, Drew David, Gannon Deshotel, Zach Vidrine, John David, all of Ville Platte; Jacob Aguillard of Vidrine and Brent Swann of Eunice, all friends of the groom.
The groom was outfitted in an ultra slim fit navy sterling wedding suit that featured a self framed notch lapel, accompanied by an ivory bow tie and brown oxford shoes.
The groomsmen matched the groom in a navy wedding suit, and completed their attire with navy bow ties and brown oxford shoes.
Ushers during the ceremony were Alex and Ian Dupre of Eunice, cousins of the bride.
Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held at LaBelle Venue in Eunice. The couple took a honeymoon trip to Negril, Jamaica, and have made their home in New Orleans.
The bride is a graduate of St. Edmund High School, and Louisiana State University where she earned a bachelor’s of science degree in kinesiology. She continues her education at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans to obtain a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy. She is a Zeta Tau Alpha Alumni.
The groom is a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Ville Platte, attended LSU Eunice, and is currently employed with Team Industrial Services in Sulphur.
