Two Lady Bengals named All-Americans

LSU Eunice softball players sophomore infielder Rebecca Skains and freshman outfielder Emily Henderson earned NJCAA Division II All-American first team honors after a Lady Bengal national championship season.
Skains (West Ouachita) ended her career at LSUE with a .419 batting average and 18 home runs.
She finished with a career 43 home runs.
She had 74 RBIs in 2017.
She is heading to Southeastern Louisiana University to finish her softball career.
Skains was a member of the 2017 NJCAA National All-Star team that finished third in the Elite division with a 6-6 record for the tournament having competed against 3 top-10 ranked teams in the world.
Skains hit a pair of home runs and finished with 12 RBI, six walks as she reached base more than 50 percent of her at-bats for the national team.
Henderson (North Desoto) had a .374 batting average in 2017 for the Lady Bengals and hit 19 home runs.
She finished the season with 51 RBI and 65 hits.
For most of the season, Henderson and Skains were two of the top three home run hitters in Division II.
Henderson finished the season fourth in the nation in home runs. Skains was tied for eighth in the nation in home runs.
Skains and Bishop (Newton County, Mississippi) were named first-team All-Americans in 2016.
Former Lady Bengal pitchers Destin Vicknair and Raven Cole earned All-American honors in 2015.
