Happy Mother's Day Mom!

Mother’s Day is Sunday. Let’s celebrate our Mothers.
Despite the pandemic and Stay Home Order extended until May 15, we can still celebrate Mothers. I am a mother and I’m just blessed, happy to be healthy, and to be loved by my family. I feel my family extends their love daily and not just at Mother’s Day. I firmly believe that every Mother should feel this way by her family, not just on Mother’s Day.
I am not a materialistic type of mother. I appreciate homemade hand-crafted and hand-drawn cards made by my two grandsons. I love seeing their faces light up when I open their cards, and I always made a big deal about them.
I am thankful that my own mothers is alive, and well. Well, as far as this week when I made a phone call to her, she was okay. My mom who is 90 is a resident in a nearby nursing home. I miss her terribly.
I have not seen her in person since March 8. I’m just thankful that we had an enjoyable visit on that day. My mom has dementia, and like I tell my daughters, I never know what I get when I do get to visit her. I like to think of the famous movie “Forrest Gump” with Tom Hanks as he sits on a park bench and opens a box of chocolates and says “You never know what you gonna get.” I smile and laugh to myself about this movie every time I visit my mom.
I’m sure she is bored out of her mind, and when I do finally get to visit with her she will tell me, “I’m so happy to finally see you!”
I can’t wait to give her a big hug and kiss.
I suggest that you treat your Mother especially sweet Sunday, and as I like to say, apply and show this kindess everyday.
