After 40 years at Eunice High School and 41+ years in education, I wish to express my most profound appreciation to the offices of administration, faculty, staff, students — past and present — and friends as Iannounce my retirement effective Sept. 14.
Serving the community of education, particularly as a Bobcat, has been a great joy and blessing.
Whenever and wherever our students, faculty, staff, and other proud supporters of the Bobcat Nation assemble, I am reminded of Eunice High School’s powerful properties: a desire to compete; mutual passion to teach; shared purpose; and a dynamic support system.
Eunice High School has afforded me many opportunities to serve the community through various organizations, school-wide activities, and school-based drives — among which are the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and its service projects, the Back To School Supply Drive, and the Faith House Christmas Project; however, the services were never limited to school alone but extended outside of the school into the public with projects such as the Mentoring Men Conference, the St. Paul Community Health Fair, and the Agape Love Fellowship Feastfor the community.
It is with the utmost respect that I extend my gratitude to my parents for giving me the love, support, and direction I needed to begin this educational journey. I truly believe that teaching and coaching has served as a ministry granted to me by my Heavenly Father to help shape and mold the lives of the many people whose paths I crossed. Certainly, I cannot conclude this letter without an expression of appreciation to the many friends, colleagues, and students who made an impact on my life as I journeyed through this career. In these many years, many have come and gone. There were also many that left a lasting impression that empowered me to continue doing what I so love to do even to this day. I hope that some experience I shared or some service I rendered while on this journey helps someone pursue their goals or some degree of success in the same way I was nurtured by the help of many others.
It is with profound gratitude for the opportunities and friendships with which the St. Landry Parish School System and surrounding communities has enriched my life that I submit this letter of retirement. #BBa1l4Life
Sincerely,
