Fort DeRussy

Fort DeRussy place on National Register of Historic Places, Louisiana Office of State Parks

More than 150 years after it ceased to operate as a military fort defending Red River, Fort DeRussy has been named to the National Register of Historic Places.     The U.S. National Park Service approved the Fort DeRussy State Historic Site for inclusion on the register, effective Sept. 23.
