Bears upend Pirates in Top 10 battle

No. 4 Church Point remained undefeated on the season as the Bears battled for a 30-24 win over Kaplan.
Church Point jumped out to a 6-0 lead as Gavin Richard scored on a five-yard run with 6:05 left in the first period.

Jone scored on an seven-yard run as the Bears pushed ahead, 24-16 with 7:49 left in the game.
The two offenses exploded in the game’s closing minutes.

Kaplan pulled within six points with 52 seconds left when Romero scored on a 3-yard run and Mason Frick added the two-point conversion.
Dupuis finished with 153 yards on 16 carries, while Jones added 119 yards on 12 carries to lead the Bears offense who finished with 330 yards on the ground.
