St. Edmund opened Disrict 5-1A competition Tuesday with an impressive 10-3 win over False River Academy.
The Gators jumped out to a 3-0 first inning lead, begun when Gage Fuller singled, Cole Laprarie walked and James Kohl singled to load the bases.
Fuller scored when Cole Roche was hit by a pitch, while Laprarie crossed home plate as John Bizette reached on an error.
The Gators added a run on a steal as FRA held its only lead of the game.
St. Edmund closed the gap to 3-2 in the bottom of the second begun when Jack Brown singled, Lance Miller doubled and they both scored on Gator errors.

St. Edmund (8-10, 1-0) travels to Westminster Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. today as district action continues.
In Saturday’s home double header against University Academy from Alexandria, the Lions grabbed an 8-3 win in the opener before the Jays answered with an 8-5 victory.
In the loss, the Jays were limited to six hits as Doucet led the way (2-for-3, 2 RBI).
UA pitcher Zachary Dauzat grabbed the compete game win as he struck out five, walked one and allowed three earned runs.
