LAKE CHARLES – Blue Jay pitchers Bryce Vidrine and Brad Miller combined for a two-hit shut out St. Edmund cruised to a 14-0 mercy-rule win over Hamilton Christian.
With the victory, St. Edmund earned a share of the District 4-1A title.
After a scoreless first inning, the Blue Jays exploded for eight runs in the top of the second frame.
Dawson Ardoin singled and scored on a hit by Lance Miller.
Brad Miller reached on an error and scored on a ground out by Will Turk.
Kaden Fontenot was hit by a pitch and then Payton Marcantel ripped a triple to push the Jays ahead, 4-0.

Brock Bieber and Ardoin were both hit by a pitch and Brad Miller’s double cleared the bases as the Jays forged ahead, 8-0.
St. Edmund sealed the win wth six runs in the top of the sixth inning, begun when Marcantel and Jack Miller both singled and scored on a double by Bieber.
Ardoin singled, Brad Miller reached on an error before Lance Miller was hit by a pitch to plate Bieber.
Jack Parks was hit by a pitch to push across Ardoin as the Jays moved ahead, 12-0.
Brad Miller scored on a ground out by Wesley Driggs, while Lance Miller scored the game’s final run on a fly out by Josh Landry.
Vidrine pitched the first three innings and allowed one hit with three strikeouts.

Marcantel went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored to lead the Jays.
Jack Miller (2-for-4, RBI, 2 RS), Ardoin (2-for-3, 3 RS), and Lance Miller (2-for-2, BB 2 RBI, 2 RS) recorded multiple hits for the Jays.
Zion Genuso went 2-for-2 for the Warriors (4-12, 0-10).
St. Edmund (17-16, 9-1) split district games with Grand Lake (17-9, 9-1).
The Hornets won the first district clash 9-8, while the Jays later cruised to a 10-0 win.
The LHSAA will release the playoff brackets Sunday.
