Bobcats dominate Gators in 10-2 win

The Eunice Bobcats captured a 10-2 victory over Beau Chene in Metro League baseball action Tuesday evening at Bobcat Field.
The Bobcats took a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Grant Fontenot walked, stole second base and scored on a single by Josh Youngblood.
The Gators loaded the bases in the top of the second inning, but Bobcat pitcher Tyler Darbonne worked his way out of the threat without a run crossing the plate.
The Bobcats increased their lead with two runs in the bottom of the second inning. John Christian LeJeune singled, advanced to second base on a wild pitch, and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by Deondre Gallow. LeJeune scored on a bunt by Parker Jodon and Gallow later scored on a single by Austin Phillips for a 3-0 lead.
Beau Chene cut the Eunice lead to 3-2 in the top of the third, but the Bobcats regained the momentum with three runs in the bottom of the third for a 6-2 advantage. With one out, Youngblood and Jaydon Brasseaux reached base safely. LeJeune and Gallow drove in runs with singles and a third run managed to score on a fielders’ choice.
The Cats added four more runs in the bottom of the fifth with Jay Pitre contributing a single. Gallow, Pitre, Phillips, and Fontenot scored runs in the inning.
Darbonne worked two and two-thirds innings before being relieved by Jessi Linch. Linch finished with three and two-thirds innings of no-hit ball. He struck out three and walked three.
On Wednesday, the Bobcats posted a win over Sacred Heart in Metro play at Ville Platte.
