Lady Cats finish third at Bear Paw Relays

CHURCH POINT – The Eunice Lady Bobcats finished third in the 2017 Bear Paw Relays, while the Bobcats finished seventh.
Cecilia swept the meet as the only school to score over 100 points in each division.
Cecilia scored 102 points to win the girls title, followed by Beau Chene (83), Eunice (65), Crowley (59), Church Point (58), Ville Platte (56), Elton (52.5), Breaux Bridge (44), St. Edmund (22), JS Clark (9.5), Port Barre (3) and Pine Prairie (1).
St. Edmund’s Mallory Allain won the shot put with a toss of 32-11.
Allain also finished third in the discus with a throw of 79-2.
Eunice’s Kiara White won the 200-yard dash with a time of 27.74.
Lady Cat Jesslyn Reed finished second in the 400 meters with a time of 1:03.68.
Eunice’s Timia Thomas, Jyhreh Johnson, Shanyia Toussaint and Kiara White won the 4x100 relay with a time of 52.55.
Johnson, Robbi Palmer, Stacie White and Reed finished second in the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:31.79.
Palmer finished second in the high jump with a leap of 5-0.
Stacie White finished third in the javelin with a toss of 105-8.
Cecilia won the boys competition with 128.5 points, followed by Crowley (81), Breaux Bridge (79), Ville Platte (72), Beau Chene (36.5), Elton (35), Eunice (34), Church Point (25), St. Edmund (15), Bunkie (10), Pine Prairie (10), Port Barre (10), Rayne (9), Ascension Episcopal (8) and JS Clark (5).
Eunice’s Javondre Edwards finished second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.04.
Bobcat Avery Lee finished second in the javelin with a throw of 168-6.
St. Edmund’s Jacque Richard finished second in the shot put with a toss of 42-0 1/2, just ahead of Eunice’s Loranza Thomas (42-0).
Blue Jay Gus Brown finished third in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 11:39.06.
