Lady Cats grab wins

OAKDALE – The Lady Bobcats grabbed two wins in the Oakdale tournament to improve 2-2 on the early softball season.
After an 11-5 loss to Pitkin to open the tournament, the Lady Cats regrouped for wins over South Beauregard and South Cameron.
Pitkin held a 4-0 lead heading into the fourth inning before the Lady Cats Varsity scored three runs in the bottom of the inning, begun when Gabby Mitchell tripled and scored on a hit by Jailyn Pavich.
Alisaa Pate doubled and Caroline Vienne ripped a two-RBI single to plate Pavich and Pate to close the gap to 4-3.
Pitkin exploded for seven runs in the fifth inning to put the game out of reach.
Eunice scored two runs in the bottom of the inning, begun when McKenzie Guillory doubled and scored when Pavich reached on an error.
Vienne drove in Pavich to close the final margin to 11-5.
Eunice finished with nine hits, led by Vienne (3-for-3, 3 RBI), Guillory (2-for-3) and Pate (2-for-3).
Vienne suffered the loss as she allowed 11 runs (one earned) on five hits with two strikeouts and a walk.

EHS 7, South Beau 4
Eunice scored three runs to open the game and held on for a 7-4 win over South Beauregard.
Carli Boone singled Guillory doubled and both scored on a double by Mitchell.
The Lady Cats moved ahead 3-0 when Mitchell scored on a ground out by Vienne.
Eunice added a run in the top of the fourth when Harmony Jason reached on an error and scored on another South Beauregard miscue.
South Beauregard scored two runs in the bottom of the frame, sparked by triple from Benae Brady to close the gap to 4-2.
Eunice answered with three runs in the fifth inning.
Mitchell doubled and Pate followed with a home run, while Vienne singled and scored on a double by Pavich.
South Beauregard scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth to close the final maargin to 7-4.
Emelie Price singled, Morgan Eaves reached on an error and both scored on a hit by Chesney Harst.
Pavich earned the complete game win for the Lady Cats as she allowqed two earned runs on six hits with one walk.
Mitchell went 3-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored to lead the Lady Cats.

Eunice pitcher Caroline Vienne threw a complete game shutout as the Lady Cats rolled to a 7-0 win over South Cameron in their final game of the Oakdale tournament.
After two scoreless innings, Eunice pushed across three runs in the bottom of the third, begun when Olivia Thibodeaux singled and scored on a fly out by Guillory.
Mitchell singled and scored on a hit by Vienne.
Pate singled and crossed home plate on a hit by Jalon Ned as the Lady Cats moved ahead, 3-0.
Eunice sealed the win with our runs in the fourth inning.
Madlyn Edwards to begin the inning and scored on a double by Thibodeaux.
The rally continued when Mitchell singled and Pate walked with two outs.
Vienne reached on an error that allowed Mitchell and Pate to score as the Lady Cats pushed ahead, 7-0.
Vienne earned the win as she struck out seven and scattered three hits.
Eunice finished with eight hits, led by Mitchell (2-for-2, BB, 2 RS) and Thibodeaux (2-for-3, RBI, 2 RS).
