Lady Dogs down Mamou, 6-5

MAMOU – The Lady Bulldogs scored a run in the top of the sixth as Iota earned a 6-5 victory over Mamou on Thursday.
Iota (15-6, 5-1) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first, begun when Makenzie Droddy reached on an error and scored on a double by Peyton DuBose.
Teri Johnson singled and scored on a hit by Greta Fontenot.
DuBose scored on a ground out by Maci Wright to push the Lady Dogs up 3-0.
Mamou (13-9, 4-3) scored a run in the bottom of the third when Madison Fontenot singled and scored on a double by Dacia Richard.
Iota added two more runs in the top of the fourth to move ahead, 5-1.
Johnson reached on an error and later scored on a ground out by Dixie Guidry.
DuBose singled and scored on a hit by Ryley Crochet.
Mamou scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth to close the gap to 5-4.
Angel Menier singled and scored on a hit by Destiny Menier.
Terranie Thomas reached on an error and later Fontenot singled in two runs.
The Green Demons tied the game in the bottom of the fifth inning before Iota answered with the game-go-ahead run in the top of the sixth frame.
Fontenot doubled and scored on Guidry’s single.
Greta Fontenot earned ther win as she allowed 11 hits and five runs over seven innings with one strikeout.
Richard took the loss for Mamou as she allowed five runs on seven hits, striking out two.
Johnson went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, while DuBose went 2-for-3 with a walk, a RBI and two runs scored.
Fontenot went 2-for-5 with a RBI and a run scored.
Guidry finished 2-fof-4 with two RBI, while Crochet went 2-for-3 with a RBI.
Richard went 4-for-4 with a RBI to lead Mamou, while Angel Menier went 2-for-3 with a run scored.
Madison Fontenot went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored.
Iota travels to Crowley on Tuesday before entertaining Church Point on Wednesday.
Mamou travels to Pine Prairie Monday before entertainin Crowley on Wednesday.
