LSUE softball coaching staff recognized

LSU Eunice was voted as the 2019 NFCA NJCAA DII National Coaching Staff of the Year, the Association recently announced.
Under the guidance of head coach Andy Lee and assistant coach Raven Cole, the Bengals won the 2019 NJCAA Division II title, their third national championship in the last four seasons and sixth overall.
LSU Eunice compiled a 52-6 record and ended its season on a 17-game winning streak.
The Bengals swept through postseason play, capturing the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament with victories over Pearl River Community College and Itawamba Community College (twice) to reach the national tournament.
From there, LSUE posted six victories over No. 16 Hagerstown Community College, No. 9 Johnson County Community College, No. 4 Highland Community College and two against No. 3 Phoenix College.
The final triumph, a 10-5 win over Phoenix, gave the Bengals their title.
Lee just completed his 11thseason as the Bengals head coach. Under his direction, LSU Eunice has won six national titles, posted a 582-107 record (.845) and been ranked No. 1 nationally at some point of the season in eight of the last 10 years.
Other coaches on the softball staff include Stephen Soileau and Ronnie Naomi.
