Patterson 12U All-Stars win bracket opener

The Patterson Babe Ruth 12U All-Stars won their first bracket game at the Babe Ruth Southwest Region Tournament with an 11-1 victory against Hamburg, Arkansas, Thursday in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Patterson took a 3-0 lead after an inning, led 5-1 after three complete and extended its lead to 7-1 after the fourth. The game ended after five innings with Patterson ahead 11-1 against Arkansas’ northern state champion.
Charlotte Calais and Emily Lipari led Patterson’s offense. Calais was 3-for-3 with a double, two RBIs, three stolen bases and two runs, while Lipari was 2-for-3 with two doubles, four RBIs and a run.
Other top Patterson offensive contributors were Kamille Lightfoot, 2-for-3 with a stolen base and two runs; Bryleigh DeHart, 1-for-2, a double and an RBI; Amaya Williams, 1-for-3, a double and two runs; Ryleigh Chaisson, 1-for-3, an RBI; Maddi St. Blanc, 1-for-2; and Laila Dugar, 1-for-3, a run.
Dugar earned the win. In 3.1 innings, she surrendered one unearned run on one hit with six strikeouts.
Chaisson pitched 1.2 innings and surrendered four hits but fanned two.
Patterson will return to action Friday at 4:30 p.m. when it faces the Harrison, Arkansas, Diamond Divas. The Diamond Divas advanced after defeating the Oklahoma Knockouts Thursday.
The Patterson/Harrison winner will meet the winner of the Jefferson Parish Recreation Department—West/Jefferson Parish Recreation Department East winner Saturday at 12:30 p.m. for the right to advance to Saturday’s 6 p.m. final.
