The LHSAA has dealt with the Non-Select/Select split in the football playoffs for several years.
This year, it includes basketball, softball and baseball.
No. 9 St. Edmund (9-17) received a first-round bye and the Lady Blue Jays will travel to No. 8 Ascension Christian (13-13) at 6:30 p.m. Monday for a Select Division IV regional round contest.
With a victory, the Lady Jays would face the No. 1 Houma Christian (23-7)/No. 17 St. Frederick (3-22) –False River (7-17) winner in the quarterfinals.
In Division III, No. 20 Ouachita Christian (5-19) visits No. 13 Sacred Heart of Ville Platte (13-12).
In Class 3-A, the Iota Lady Bulldogs (25-6) are the No. 2 seed and will open against No. 31 Lutcher (15-15).
With a victory, Iota would face the Northwest-B.T. Washington winner in the regional round.
No. 4 Ville Platte (25-7) will entertain No. 29 Franklin (11-16), while No. 19 Pine Prairie (15-8) visits No. 14 Erath (17-8).
In Class 1-A, the No. 17 Basile (12-16) Lady Bearcats will travel to No. 16 Centerville (7-12).
