8 now arrested in fatal hit and run

Seven more people, including the parents of the driver, have been arrested in connection with a fatal hit and run incident on March 1, according to Eunice Police.
Arrested Friday for accessary after the fact to hit and run driving were Phillip Dwayne Fontenot, 54, and Leslie Vidrine Fontenot, 49, both of the 100 block of Justice Lane, police report. Bail was set at $7,500 each.

Acadia Parish sheriff requests informaiton about fatal hit and run

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office is seeking information from the public regarding a fatal hit and run crash, which occurred at about 8:30 p.m. Monday in the 1100 block of Lovell Street.
The victim, identified as Jeanette Clifton, 78, of Crowley, was struck by a vehicle believed to be traveling west on Lovell Street. The victim was walking home from a neighbor’s residence when she was struck.
