Eunice High School held a Black history month program recently in the auditorium with a theme of “Black to The Future”. The idea for this year’s theme stemmed from the San Francisco Human Rights Commission initiative that promotes African-American community empowerment.
Family and friends were invited to the school’s program and the event comprised of students, faculty and staff. The program was led by members of the 2019 senior class under the administrative supervision of Brett Simien.
The guest speaker for the program was the Rev. Tre’ Clark of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Clark is a native of Eunice.
The program included poetic readings, dance performances, inspirational singing by EHS Choir, a soloist, and a skit performed by students and staff.
