The Bulb & Blossom Garden Club has recognized the Eunice Downtown Merchants Association, as the Business Yard for the month of May. The landscaped areas of the two blocks starting at Laurel and Second Street, running south to Park Avenue, have been recently refurbished, replanted, and enhanced resulting in a fresh look for Eunice’s Historic Downtown District. The large circular bed located near the newly installed digital sign, now holds a colorful display of coral Knock Out roses bordered by plantings of silver Dusty Miller. All of the octagon shaped planter boxes were painted and contain an assortment of yellow and burgundy day lilies, pansies, purple oxalis, and Asparagus Sprengeri ferns, finished with pine straw mulch. More lilies fill the additional beds bordering Second Street with fuchsia oleander trees. (Submitted by Celeste D. Gomez)
