The Jean Lafitte Prairie Acadian Cultural Center in Eunice offered a summer fun camp “Camp Bonjour” this week for kids ages 6 to 8. Kids learned more about Cajun, Creole, and Native American cultures and the history of Louisiana and they also learned more about the National Park Service. Some activities offered included Cajun French and Zydeco music and dance, old-fashioned games, storytelling, hands on cultural crafts, and baking. Angelle Bellard, park ranger, fills homemade pie dough with the kids choice of filling, apple, cherry or lemon. From left are Bellard, Addison Prejean and Marley O’Brien, both 7 years-old.
