Central Middle names science fair winners

Central Middle School recently hosted their Science Fair on campus.
Fifth and sixth-graders were able to use their curiosity about their surroundings and research a topic that interest them the most. Students followed the Scientific Method and their knowledge of STEM. Students were able to showcase and present their work after days and hours of research and preparation to local judges.
The categories of the Science Fair were Animal Science, Behavioral & Social Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, Earth & Planetary Science, Energy & Transportation, and Medicine & Health Sciences.
The overall winners are Yasmin Thomas with “How Technology Effects Society?” in the Behavioral & Social Sciences category; Caleb Arceneaux with the “Ferris Wheel” in the Electrical & Mechanical Engineering category; Aniyah Cesar with “Can Plants Grow Underwater?” in the Environmental Sciences category; and Emily Miller with “Barrel Racing” in the Animal Science category.
The next stop is at the Parish Science Fair held Jan. 20 at Northwest High School. Judges were Brittany Fontenot, Susie Fontenot and Cheryl Doyle.
