The Charles Drew High School class 1968 celebrated its 50th year class reunion with a weekend of festivities, food, and fun. The celebration was held on the weekend of Aug. 31.
The celebration program was held at the Southeast Neighborhood Center in Eunice. The program was centered on, among other things, the occasion, the history of the school, antics of the students, and a presentation of deceased classmates.
The group dined during the event and pictures were taken among the school colors of purple and white.
The classmates toured the old Charles Drew building, now Central Middle, on Sept. 1, and then boarded a limo for a trip to Marksville, the city where the class had their senior class trip. The group finished the day off with dinner and dancing at one of the classmate’s home.
On Sept. 2 classmates attended church at New Zion Baptist Church in Eunice to worship together and also had breakfast.
