Cormier named Student of the Year at Eunice High

Emily Michelle Cormier is Eunice High School's twelfth grade Student of the Year.
Cormier is the daughter of Vanessa and Troy Cormier of Eunice.
She is the senior class president, CORE team member, and serves as the high school’s yearbook editor.
Cormier is the student leader of Eunice High’s Impact Club, Blood Drive facilitator and Red Cord recipient.
She is a four year student council member where she has participated in organizing blood drives, mural hallway paintings, decorating the hallways of the nursing home, penny war fundraisers, student registration/orientation and homecoming float building.
As a member of the National Honor Society, she participates in peer tutoring twice a week and is a member of the National Society of High School scholars.
Cormier is also involved with the EHS Pay it Forward Club where she participated in handing out gift cards, making goody bags for student registration, visiting veterans at the vets’ home, Breakfast for struggling students, Christmas caroling and collecting clothes for hurricane victims.
She is also a member of the ACT 22+Club, ACE Letterman, and was a Girls State Delegate her junior year.
She is a 4.0 GPA honor student, and has received honor award since her freshman year in high school.
She received the perfect attendance award her junior year, and has scored Excellent on her EOC tests and has perfect attendance currently.
Cormier placed first at the state Literary Rally her sophomore year, placed second at the District Science Fair her junior year, first place in the Social Studies Fair her junior year and advanced to state level where she placed first.
