Some parents choose Catholic schools for their children because of high academic standards; values-added education and a safe school environment. The faculty and staff at St. Edmund are role models who share their faith, their talents, and their time with students. Throughout the month of May, students at St. Edmund Elementary School crown Mary and lay flowers all around the statue. Stephanie Manuel, a Religion teacher, decided this year to display this Mary statue near the classroom of the class, and crowned Mary on that day. Suzanne Wimberly’s kindergarten class gathered around Mary one morning praying the rosary to her. Seated, from left are, Ainsley Fruge, Ella Brown, Sofia Veillon, Anna Briscoe, Michael Oliver and John Ryan Mayeaux. In back, from left are, Scott Zaunbrecher, Caroline Vincent, Ally Ward, Addison Simon, Ryder Thibodeau, Ella Soileau, Mary Katharine McGee, Gracie Gaspard, Liam Jenkins and Molly Miller.
