A sixth-grader from Central Middle School, David Fruge, collected 11 garbage bags of gently used and new stuffed animals. The civic minded youth started about two months ago by getting the word out through school, friends and his mother’s social media means. He asked for stuffed animals to give to the Eunice Police department. Eunice Police officers as they respond to incidents of families hand a stuffed animal to the children of these families. Accepting the donations were Deputy Chief Richard Daigle and Police officer Darrian Guillory. Fruge is the son of Bruce and Estelle Bakka of Eunice. (Photo by Myra Miller)
