Josi Lemelle chosen Student of the Year at Eunice Junior High School

Josi A. Lemelle has been named Student of the Year at Eunice Junior High School. Lemelle is a 14-year-old eighth-grade student at Eunice Jr. High.
She is the daughter of Chad and Fran Lemelle. Lemelle is actively involved at school and is a member of the cheerleading team, serves as captain; the History Club, Science Club, Youth Alive, Beta Club, serves as secretary; Accelerated Reader Millionaire Club, Student Council, serves as a homeroom representative; Yearbook Club and Track Team, Triple Jump.
Outside of school, Lemelle is a 11-year dance student at Oliva Dodd’s Studio of Dance where she also assists with teaching of classes. She has been a member of the dance studio competition’s team for eight years which has allowed her the opportunity to travel to various cities, Houston, San Antonio, Orlando, New Orleans, Chicago, for performances. One of her proudest moments in dance was being selected for the lead role in The Creole Nutcracker in 2018.
Lemelle is a member of the New Zion Baptist Church where she participates in the Youth Choir, Sunday School, Youth Action Ministry, Angels of Zion Praise Dance Team, and Junior Ushers. She actively participates in many community events and spends time after school tutoring her classmates in math.
