Lauren Brown named Teacher of the Year at Eunice Junior High School

Lauren Brown has been named Eunice Junior High School’s 2019-2020 Teacher of the Year. Brown is a 15-year, second generation teacher, who began teaching in Coweta County, Georgia.
She currently teaches IBCA to seventh and eighth graders. During her 13-years at Eunice Jr. High, Brown has taught Resource, self-contained Special Education, seventh grade English, Title I, and seventh-grade math.
She serves as the PBIS coordinator, 504 coordinator, SBLC chairperson, secondary testing coordinator, Junior Beta sponsor, Yearbook sponsor, social media manager, and webmaster for Eunice Junior High School.
Brown has taught LEAP summer school to eighth graders and provides after school tutoring through Migrant Education. Brown earned a bachelor of science in criminology and a minor in sociology from the the University of West Georgia in 2003, and then completed the alternative certification program at McNeese State University in Special Education-Mild/Moderate in 2010. Brown is married to Tre’ Brown and together they have two children Ava Grace, 11, and Beau, 10. She is the daughter of Larry and Carol Wortham.
Brown and her family proudly support and follow Eunice High sports where she and her husband are part of the film crew/video to sidelines for the football team and her husband is on the coaching staff for volleyball and baseball.
