There will be a Mardi Gras Dance with Lil Buck Sinegal & Major Handy from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27 at Knights of Peter Claver Hall in Grand Coteau.

Lil’ Buck Sinegal is known as a phenominal guitarist with a career that spans more than five decades. With over 300 recordings under his belt, he has played and recorded with Clifton Chenier, Henry Gray, Rockin’ Dopsie, Buckwheat Zydeco, and other blues artists, including Grammy-winning efforts with Paul Simon’s 1987 album “Graceland.”
He also worked as a session guitarist for Excello on swamp blues by Slim Harpo and Lazy Lester. Lil’ Buck was inducted into the Louisiana Blues Hall of Fame in 1999.
Major Handy was born and raised as the oldest of seven children in St. Martinville, the parish seat of St. Martin Parish and right on the Bayou Teche. He has played in the bands of Rockin’ Dopsie for many years as well as in the very first incarnation of Buckwheat Zydeco just after Buckwheat had left Clifton Chenier.Over his 40 years in music Major

There will also be a pageant with the king and queen, a second line, and a raffle with great prizes.
There will also be food and beverages for sale at the concert. All proceeds for this event will help with renovation of the Historic Knights of Peter Claver Hall in Grand Coteau.
