BATON ROUGE — Five LSU College of Agriculture students received University Medals during the college’s commencement ceremony on May 11 in the LSU Maddox Field House.
The University Medal was established as an award for LSU undergraduate students graduating with the highest grade-point average in their class.
“The university medal is the highest honor we bestow at graduation,” said Bill Richardson, dean of the College of Agriculture and LSU vice president for agriculture. “We are very proud of these students for this achievement.”
Earning University Medals were: Jennifer Olinde, an animal sciences major from Panama City, Panama; Karen Robbins, an animal sciences major from Folsom; Meghan Roberts, a natural resource ecology and management major from Mandeville; Brandon Thibodaux, a natural resource ecology and management major from Houma; and Caroline Winer, a nutrition and food sciences major from West Palm Beach, Florida.
Two College of Agriculture graduates were also commissioned at the LSU Spring Commissioning Ceremony on May 10 in the Union Theater.
2nd Lt. Olivia Colton was commissioned into the United States Army. Colton is a natural resource ecology and management major from San Diego. After graduation, she reports to Basic Officers Leadership Course in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, for military police training.
2nd Lt. Cole Henderson Hyler Wolf was commissioned into the United States Air Force. Wolf is a natural resource ecology and management major from Hammond. After graduation, he reports to Columbus Air Force Base in Columbus, Mississippi.
The college conferred 203 degrees.
