Lauren Lafleur’s second grade class at East Elementary was treated recently with a special visitor. A Navy veteran and grandfather to Lafleur, Russell Fontenot. Fontenot served in the United States Navy from 1964-1968. His basic training was in San Diego, California, and he received advanced electronics and radio operator training in Norfolk, Virginia. Fontenot was a second class radio operator in Beach Masters Unit 2 and Rakovic Naval Base in Iceland. (Submitted photo)
