New pastor at First Baptist

The congregation at First Baptist Church of Eunice has a new pastor. The Reverend Brent Shoalmire performed his first sermon on Feb. 2.
Rev. Shoalmire, 48, was born in Starkville, Mississippi, and grew up Ruston. He was ordained into the ministry in 2001 by Bellaire Baptist in Bossier City.
Rev. Shoalmire is married to Shannon Stanley Shoalmire for the past 23 years and the couple has four children, Lauren, 14, Lydia, 12, Luke, 11, and Lacey, 8.
He is a graduate of Choudrant High School, east of Ruston, and an undergraduate of LA Tech University where he earned a Bachelors of Arts in Communication in 1998. He received a MA in Ministry from LA Baptist Theolgical Seminary, and attended Seminary from LA Baptist Univeristy. He is currently pursing a PHd in Theology.
Rev. Shoalmire arrives in Eunice from Red River Baptist Church, in Benton, where he served as pastor for the past 4 years.
His ministry serving as pastor included: Calvary Baptist Church in Homer, from 2001-2005, Elm Grove Baptist Church in Bossier City from 2005-2008, Northwood Baptist Church in Shreveport from 2013-2018, and Open Door Church in Bossier City where he served as minister to young couples and families from 2013-2015.
Rev. Shoalmire has found and settled in his new home in Eunice. When not at church, he enjoys family time, lost distance cycling, fishing and most all outdoor activities.
He is looking forward to meeting and greeting new people in Eunice.
As pastor of First Baptist Church, Rev. Shoalmire plans to, “... continue to serve, reach out and minister to church family and community, and to continue to proclaim and share the good Gospel of Jesus Christ.”
His children has started school in Iota at the public schools. His children are in second,-fifth, seventh-and ninth-grade.
