EUNICE–Pedestal Bank recently announced the winner of the bank’s $10,000 “Be Inspired” Scholarship.
Logan Landry, a senior at St. Edmund High School in Eunice, is the recipient of a $10,000 scholarship funded by Pedestal Bank. She was one of 90 applicants considered for the scholarship. Landry plans to attend Louisiana State University Eunice majoring in Biology.
The Pedestal Bank “Be Inspired” Scholarship seeks to encourage the spirit of Community in high school seniors and give financial assistance to area youth seeking higher education. Among other criteria, applicants were required to submit an 800 word essay on the value of community. The top 5 essays were chosen and the authors participated in an interview with members of the bank’s scholarship committee.
“I was shocked and excited to hear I was chosen for the scholarship,” said Landry. “My parents told me that I can do anything I put my mind to, and that thought has always given me strength to achieve my goals.”
“The Pedestal Bank “Be Inspired” Scholarship program is an important part of fulfilling our commitment to community,” said Kim Elfert, SVP Human Resources and Marketing for Pedestal Bank. “We were delighted to receive so many entries and equally impressed with the level of talented young people in our communities.”
Pedestal Bank is one of the ten largest banks based in Louisiana with a branch network of 23 locations serving 11 parishes with assets over 1.2 billion.
