Samual Hebert competes in National Quiz Bowl in Houston

Samual Hebert began a three-month span of competing on the National Quiz Bowl Stage April 8 in the Texas Invitational VIII Quiz Bowl Tournament in Houston, Texas at Strake Jesuit.
Hebert and two other Louisiana students, one from Jesuit of New Orleans and the other from Lusher Charter in New Orleans, plus a Strake Jesuit student originally from New Orleans competed as the “ Louisiana Pelicans.
They were up against 20 of the top quiz bowl teams in the country with eight teams ranking in the top 20 and another six in the top 100. They played in 26 matches over a two-day period. This team will compete again this summer in Lexington, Kentucky in a National All Star Tournament representing Louisiana.
Hebert has captained the Episcopal School of Acadiana’s Quiz Bowl team the last two years, and they have won their division state championship three of the last four years coming in state runner-up this year. They are headed to Chicago in two weeks to compete in the National Small School Championship Tournament.
Hebert is a senior at Episcopal School of Acadiana and will be attending The University of Chicago this fall.
