Ardhyn Parks, a senior at Savannah College of Arts and Designs in Savannah, Georgia, paid a visit at the Eunice Depot Museum Wednesday. Parks is studying textiles.
She set up a loom, which takes several hours, and began her weaving, doing “her thing.” Parks started weaving some three years ago, enjoys it, and focuses on print and patterns.
She has woven with many different textiles, and created many beautiful pieces. She is shown holding a pillow case. She also has her own label.
Parks is the daughter of Drs. Scott and Lori Parks of Ville Platte, and the granddaughter of Eunice’s Diana Parks.
The Eunice Depot Museum is located at 220 S. CC Duson Street, and is open to the public, Tuesday through Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
Every Wednesday from 10 a.m. until noon there is a group knitters. Those interested in knitting are welcomed.
Hostesses at the depot are Della Breaux and Diana Parks.
