On National Appreciation Day for Catholic schools, students, families, educators and other Catholic school supporters communicate the value of Catholic education to government leaders. They share information with leaders on the significant contributions Catholic schools make to the nation and their role in preparing students to be good citizens. They pray for the nation and recognize all those who serve.
On Feb. 3, St. Edmund senior Dominic Prudhomme had the honor of presenting Staff Sgt. Eric Speegle with letters and cards that St. Edmund students made for members of the armed forces.
Prudhomme has enlisted in the United States Army. He is considered a future soldier waiting to ship after high school. His job or MOS is 35G geospatial Imagery analyst in the field of military intelligence. St. Edmund is thankful to the heroes that serve and have served our country in the Armed Forces.
Also on Feb. 3, during a morning prayer assembly, St. Edmund announced its Fifth Grade Student of the Year. The honor went to Georgia Kate Wimberly.
