St. Edmund Kynlie Floyd named champion barrel racer

Kynlie Floyd, 7, a second grader at St. Edmund Elementary has discovered her passion of horses,riding them, and riding her horse Buster at rodeos.
Floyd has been a member of the Acadiana Barrel Racing Association for the past year.
She has continued to keep a score high enough to maintain a spot in the top three throughout the year.
The weekend of Nov. 10, 11, there were finals for the season and there were two rounds, one on Saturday and one on Sunday, followed by the awards ceremony, and Floyd had a great weekend.
She and her horse Buster came out of the weekend as “Finals Champion” in her division 8U advanced barrels. After the rounds they collected the points for the entire season and Kynlie Floyd won the title of “Champion Barrel Racer” for 8U advanced barrels for the 2018 ABRA year.
Floyd was awarded a saddle, buckle, chair, cooler, $75 in gift certificates, duffel bag, a bucket of goodies valued over $100 and some cash.
She has also participated in the poles and broke her own personal record during the finals.
Floyd and Buster had a great season, and they are looking forward to the 2019 rodeo year.
Kynlie is the daughter of Logan and Courtney Floyd.
